The fact that RME has three C2H2 zinc fingers and also requires an additional C-terminal region for binding in vitro, together with its relatively large footprint, are consistent with such a large binding site. However, I gave this motif a "low" score as there is no systematic analysis in vivo or in vitro indicating that these are really the most preferred sites. It would be valuable to redo the in vitro and in vivo experiments under appropriate conditions. |
